Powersports FAQ

In the past few months since we acquired Tucker Powersports, we’ve been busy preparing our company’s infrastructure. This effort will provide us with a solid foundation for our future within the Powersports market. To those unfamiliar with us, we ask for your trust and patience as we take on this new challenge. In the spirit of transparency, there are a few transitional updates that we want to share with you.

Commitment to Ethical Business Practices

As an organization, we are committed to doing business the way it should be done. We feel so strongly that it is one of our core values. Part of that means we give our partners the tools they need to succeed: inventory, data, and transparent business practices focused on relationships and long-term growth. The owners of Turn 14 Distribution, Jon and Chris, were small business owners and are grounded in their belief that we are here to support them.

As a result of that belief and commitment, we have a well-earned reputation in the automotive aftermarket for being fair, supporting our customers and vendors, and paying our bills on time. We will continue to maintain the pillars and practices that our business was founded upon as Powersports is integrated.

TRANSITION

There are several moving parts to this change, and a large amount of that was the retention of key people from Tucker to help us learn the ins and outs of the industry, maintain relationships with customers and vendors, and bring a dedicated, passionate group of people to our organization.

Tucker.com

Turn 14 Distribution took Tucker.com offline a few months ago and redirected it to Turn14.com. While Turn 14 Distribution has acquired the Tucker.com domain, we have no control over the servers that previously resided there and do not have data pertaining to previous website orders.

Turn 14 Powersports

Turn 14 Powersports continues to make progress in re-establishing its eleven brands. The vendor supply chain has been secured. Inventory continues to grow by the week, and all brands are in the process of being replenished. It has taken a little longer than we would like, but we currently have over twelve million in inventory, with another ten million either on the water or being placed. Our monthly replenishment system is in place and is working.

Sales demand continues to increase each month. The re-introduction of the brands during the AIMExpo was a success. We received a lot of positive feedback from our dealers. We introduced new products in ProTaper® and Kuryakyn® during the show. The new collections for our apparel brands should be landing soon. The goal is to introduce new products for each brand throughout the year. New pricing will be introduced at the beginning of March with an implementation date of April 1st.

Turn 14 Powersports has hired a new social media team to help drive sales toward our dealers. The goal is to post new content every day. We have also decided to discontinue selling to Amazon.com directly. At the same time, we are re-introducing a MAP policy for all brands. MAP will be set at MSRP-5%. We know it will take a little time to get the advertised price under control, but be patient with us. We take protecting the equity of our brands very seriously. The last item is we are working extremely hard to get our arms around the ProTaper knock-off products in the market. We have already received word that the Max ProTaper will no longer be able to use that mark. We have also taken steps to have the ProTaper listing taken off TEMU.

We at Turn 14 Powersports want to thank you for your support and patience as we work through this process.

Integration & Data

Since our last update, we’ve provided our pricebook to several new Dealer Management Systems (DMS), increasing our supported count to 15. Contact your DMS if you need to add our price book. We’re also finalizing our initial integration with the LeadVenture family of companies (including AccessorySmart, ARI, DealerSpike, and Powersports Support), which will be completed in early March, allowing you to view our catalog and inventory levels.

For dealers connected to our API, you can now see what items are Powersports-focused thanks to a new powersports_indicator attribute.

Orders can now be imported through our website via a CSV or TRDOS file, making it even easier to place an order. Support for order import includes popular DMSes with order export functionality like Lightspeed and MIC Commander.

We are working hard on getting product data and vehicle fitments together in a distributable format beginning with our owned brands and leading into all Powersports products. This should begin appearing in data feeds and on Turn14.com in April of 2024.

Inventory Update

Our warehouse teams worked diligently over the past few months, and we are pleased to announce that as of February 7th, the transition of products from Tucker Distribution centers has been completed. All items have been received in our distribution centers and are now available on Turn14.com.

Sales Update

The Sales team heavily relies on the expertise of Outside Territory Managers for on-site visits to Turn 14 Distribution customers. By retaining seasoned sales professionals from Tucker under Rick Hurst’s leadership, such as Zya Braun, Jerry Hasaka, Frank Hurst, Keith Hiser, and others, we have established a robust Outside Territory team covering 90% of the continental USA. This Outside Territory team will perform over 1,000 in-person dealer visits per month.

In addition to our industry veterans, our inside sales specialists benefit from dedicated budgets for customer shop visits. This proactive approach empowers us to better understand each customer's business and identify potential avenues for growth.

Moreover, we are committed to supporting our sales staff by providing opportunities to attend industry events. This commitment serves our customers by staying connected with their needs and keeps our team informed about emerging trends in the Powersports industry, allowing them to indulge in their passion for continuous improvement.

Purchasing Update

Turn 14 Distribution has a carefully curated line card. We always focus on quality over quantity when adding partners. While onboarding brands Tucker previously distributed, we enrich data, verify pricing programs make sense for dealers, set proper inventory levels, and create new relationships. We typically add 35 new product lines to our offerings in a year and are now onboarding 135 product lines at once. All of this behind-the-scenes work will pay dividends as the improvements come online. To see who we are adding, visit our line card on our website and select the powersports toggle.

Powersports brands under agreements: 85
Powersports brands finalizing agreements: 50

As new brands come online after the entire process, they will be formally announced on turn14.com.

Marketing Update

Since our last update, our Turn 14 Distribution sales, purchasing, and marketing teams attended the AIMExpo show. The event was our first opportunity to meet with the Powersports industry since the acquisition and debut of Turn 14 Powersports and the associated brands.

As the primary sponsor for the show, we used the Turn 14 Distribution as a space for meeting customers face-to-face and educating them about the advantages of establishing and growing a relationship with us. Our main booth featured the limited production of 250 made Bimota Tesi H2 and the Sparco USA-built Polaris RZR Turbo S4 featuring Sparco seats and a stroker kit.

We also had our E-Power booth across the aisle from our main display, the Turn 14 Distribution E-Bike demo track. After the show's first day, we were delighted to meet many warm and welcoming faces at the industry party. The informal atmosphere, great conversation, and networking made it worthwhile.

As part of our commitment to growing our involvement and market presence in the industry, we welcomed three new hires to the marketing team in client coordination, videography, and media coordination. These new team members will be focused on documenting our involvement and working with our team manufacturing partners to keep you informed of all of the latest industry news.

Next month, from March 27th to the 29th, we’ll host a dedicated hospitality activation during the Easter Jeep Safari week in Moab, Utah. Our marketing team will have our 53’ Turn 14 Distribution motorsports and events trailer ready to welcome our Powersports and off-road industry partners there for the week. We’ll offer a seated breakfast and dinner to industry-only attendees. Your Turn 14 Distribution sales representative will have full details on where to find us.

Catalogs

Turn 14 Distribution catalogs information digitally via our website only. We do so for efficiency reasons. We want to arm our dealers with the most up-to-date information, and the only way to do so is via turn14.com.

Invoices

Turn 14 Distribution invoices utilize “Product Names” instead of “Product Descriptions.” We’ve updated these product names for 95% of the active Powersports products initially loaded into our systems. Our data team will load the remaining 5% by 3/15/2024. At that point, all invoices will have a more conventional look and feel with less ambiguity. Turn 14 Distribution invoices will not, however, contain year, make, or model information, it will only contain product information. Example: Vance & Hines Hi-Output Slip-On Mufflers as opposed to Vance & Hines Hi-Output Slip-On Mufflers for a 2019 Harley Davidson Road Glide Ultra.2024

Hours of Operation

Availability is one of the strategic advantages we offer to our dealers. Our hours of operation allow you access to our professionally trained and industry-acclaimed customer support team, who are available seven days a week from 8 am to 7 pm EST.

Our distribution centers offer a 7 pm EST, seven days a week shipping cut-off, allowing you more time in the day and week to service your customers.
